Mobility and Smart CITIes in Leganés Tecnológico - VTI SL Comunicación

Last 20th of September a conference on Tendencies in Mobility and Smart CITIes was held at UC3M “Parque Tecnologico” on the occasion of the European mobility week.

This conference, organized by the University Carlos III of Madrid, aim to show the state-of-art of the research on those topics, giving visibility on the breakthroughs of both big companies and SMEs, and startups.

VTI had an important role during the session, where our Engineering Director, Guillermo Calviño, participated on the Round Table on Success Cases on behalf of SMEs and startups for Mobility and Smart CITIes. Our expertise on Passive Security test systems was presented to the audience, highlighting our early collaboration in diverse national and European projects focused on the protection of pedestrians in the city.

All the participants remarked that in this new-era of cities one of the biggest challenges will be the cohabitation of the different vehicles. Protection systems will be decisive.

The day concluded with a public test of the autonomous minibus of the CITIes Timanfaya Project, which will complete the Vulcans route in Lanzarote in 2020. This is an ambitious project in which VTI takes part in as a partner of the consortium, helping with our expertise by performing the integration tasks of the different sensors and actuators.
